FIFA World cup 2022 ticket price & Where to buy

The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022.

Fans will be trooping in to witness the most unique World Cup ever, the first of its kind to be held in the winter months and the first compact World Cup aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

Here is all the information available on the tickets to this spectacular showpiece which Qatar has promised will be unforgettable.

Hayya cards

There is a caveat to getting tickets for the upcoming World Cup called the Hayya cards.

Qatar is a tourist nation, but a small one. The months of November and December are usually a busy time for tourists who visit the nation for sightseeing and fun. As a result, Qatar has made it compulsory for World Cup goers to get a Hayya card.

The Hayya card identifies those who will be visiting Qatar for the World Cup as it will serve as a kind of visa for the traveling fans. No tickets will be issued to fans who have no Hayya cards.

Fans will have to apply for Hayya cards, which will then be used to apply for tickets and accommodation ahead of the World Cup.

Where and how to get World cup 2022 tickets

As stated earlier, the tickets for the World Cup will be sold on special FIFA platforms (FIFA.com/tickets and all other FIFA affiliate partners).

However, the tickets are not on sale at the moment as Qatar is trying to control the number of fans who will be coming into their small nation.

An estimated 1.5 million people – including teams and confederation delegates – are expected for the World Cup. Fans will number at least 1 million and at the time of writing, 800,000 tickets have already been sold.

Another ticket sales window will be opened in a few months to the World Cup. Hopeful fans have to make sure to secure their Hayya cards first.

World cup 2022 ticket Ticket categories and prices

In an unprecedented move to ensure that fans get the best of their World Cup experience, the local organizing committee of the Qatar 2022 World Cup came up with the idea of supporters’ tickets.

These supporters’ tickets will allow fans who are not nationals or indigenes of countries they support to sit with the national fans of that country and take in the atmosphere with them.

The supporters’ ticket is one of the ticket categories which have been prepared for the World Cup. The others are:

Individual Match Tickets

Tickets for a specific match, available across four different price categories.

Supporter Tickets

Group-stage tickets for supporters of a certain team, available across three different price categories.

Conditional Supporter Tickets

Tickets for fans who want to sample the atmosphere across four different matches and iconic stadiums on successive days.

Accessibility Tickets

Tickets that provide access to tailored facilities and spaces for disabled people and people with limited mobility, covering a range of requirements, as part of any of the above products.
